Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanwha to integrate its Air-Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI) command-and-control (C2) gateway with Hanwha's K239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) conference in Washington, DC, on 14 October. “This effort aims to create an integrated, interoperable, and networked C2 architecture for the Five Eyes (FVEY) alliance and beyond, supporting the Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) concept at the industry level,” according to an Ultra I&C statement on 15 October.

“Essentially, we're going to integrate the Chunmoo missile system into … an interoperable network, whether it's tied into the US, tie[d] up amongst the Korean systems, and other INDOPACOM [Indo-Pacific Command] type related activities,” James Parys, vice-president for strategic technology for Ultra I&C, told Janes on 14 October.

“Korean companies said they want to know how to interoperate with and be able to connect their systems with these other systems, so that's kind of where we come in,” he continued.

There is growing interest among INDOPACOM countries to learn how to connect their systems with other systems. “We need to work with them [the Koreans] to understand the interconnectivity amongst their systems and how we can take our systems with their systems and make magic,” Parys said.
