GM Defense is marketing its Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) in Europe, with two of the vehicles displayed at the Eurosatory 2024 defence exhibition held in Paris from 17 to 21 June.
An ISV with Michelin tyres was displayed at the French multinational's stand and another vehicle was shown outside the Thales pavilion with the company's Expeditionary Data and Gateway Equipment (EDGE) Vehicle Agnostic Mobile Mission Command system.
Bradley Watters, GM Defense's vice-president for international business development, told Janes that his company has a collaboration agreement with Texelis to help introduce the ISV to the French Army and is looking for partners that can bring local content to the vehicle.
He also said that GM Defense is part of the UK's Land Mobility Programme. He reported the UK's interest in the vehicle, with the British Army's 16 Air Assault Brigade borrowing five ISVs during the US Army's experimentation exercise ‘Project Convergence' held in California in February–March. The borrowed ISVs required zero maintenance during the exercise, according to Watters.
He said the ISV was being delivered to the US Army's 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, 173rd Airborne Brigade, and 25th Infantry Division, the latter of which is based in Hawaii and assigned to the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition to the UK and France, GM Defense sees opportunities for the ISV in Ireland, Spain, and Central and Eastern Europe.
The company has added a utility version of the ISV for four or five passengers and a cargo bay for a counter-unmanned aircraft system. The vehicle can also be equipped with an 81 mm or 120 mm mortar, loitering munitions, and communications equipment, according to Watters.
