MBDA has completed the first firing trial of the new Brimstone 3 precision strike missile.
Conducted at the Vidsel Test Range, Sweden, in February in temperatures below -30°C, a Brimstone 3 missile was surface-launched against a static target, represented by a pick-up truck. MBDA said that all trial objectives were fully achieved, with the missile proving – through a telemetry unit – full closed loop guidance with the seeker progressing into target acquisition and track.
