Indonesian shipbuilder PT Daya Radar Utama (PT DRU) has launched another 90 m offshore patrol vessel (OPV) on order for the country's navy, just days after the programme's first of class took to the water.

In response to questions from Janes, a representative from the company confirmed that the vessel was launched on 20 September without the similar media coverage that its sister ship received when it took to the water on 18 September.

The second vessel has been applied with pennant number 392 and it will be in service as KRI Lukas Rumkorem once it is commissioned, the PT DRU representative confirmed.

Its sister vessel, the future KRI Raja Haji Fisabilillah with pennant number 391, was launched in a ceremony that was attended by senior Indonesian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Indonesian Navy officials.

Both vessels were launched from PT DRU's facilities in Lampung, South Sumatra.

The OPVs are being built in fulfilment of two separate contracts that PT DRU signed with the Indonesian Navy and the Indonesian MoD.

A steel-cutting ceremony for both ships was held in August 2021 at Lampung.

Each vessel displaces about 1,800 tonnes at standard loads and 2,100 tonnes at full loads. The class will have a top speed of 28 kt, an economical speed of 15 kt, and an economical cruising speed of 20 kt.

At the economical speed, the OPV will have a maximum range of 9,600 n miles with an endurance of 20 days. It can operate at up to Sea State 5 and survive up to Sea State 6.
