Milrem Robotics displayed its THeMIS Cargo unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) with the Starlink satellite communications (satcom) system at the Eurosatory 2024 defence exhibition held in Paris from 17 to 21 June.
The system, featured on the THeMIS Cargo casualty evacuation (casevac) UGV, aims to extend the operating range of the vehicle, protecting the operator and enabling the transmission of data in real time, the company detailed.
A Milrem spokesperson who wished to remain anonymous informed Janes that the intention is to enable the terminal to mechanically raise from a vertical to a horizontal position when transmitting.
The casevac UGV is currently deployed in Ukraine, supporting units with demining, route clearance, and resupply. Fourteen platforms have been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The spokesperson noted that an electronic warfare package has been added to Ukraine's THeMIS vehicles.
