The project, which is based on Get SAT’s Nano SAT-H Ka-band terminal, aims to provide complete satellite on-the-move (SoTM) direct high bandwidth communications between ground forces and headquarters including voice, data, and video.

Nano SAT-H is a portable lightweight Ka- band SATCOM terminal with an integrated block up converter and an external modem optimised for 'on-the-move' applications and man-carried portability. It weighs 3.8 kg and measures 21 × 23 cm.

According to the company, the product allows beyond line of sight communication in remote areas where there is no available communication network. The terminal includes a modem, antenna dish, antenna gimble, drive units, up converter, low noise block downconverter (LNB), inertial measurement unit (IMU) and an antenna control unit (ACU), the company told Jane’s .

The manpack weighs around 6 kg, it is adjustable and can be designed to fit very specific requirements, according to the company.

The system is designed to provide autonomous operation for transmission and reception of high bandwidth data-rates at up to 4 Mbp/s. It has an initial acquisition time of less than 20 seconds and a re-acquisition time of less than 100 ms, the company told Jane’s .
