Elbit Systems showcased its fourth-generation Seagull unmanned surface vehicle (USV) at the Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 held in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February.

Elbit Systems told Janes that the fourth-generation USV is larger than previous iterations with increased length and width, without disclosing vessel specifications. The additional space aft could help accommodate a container for an Elbit Towed Reelable Active Passive Sonar (TRAPS) or an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the company said, adding that the design has a more streamlined aluminium hull than previous versions.

Elbit said that the Seagull can be fitted with a 3D radar or electronic warfare (EW) system. The USV's primary role is anti-submarine warfare (ASW) or EW operations, said the company. It can be armed with rocket launchers or a remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS) with up to a 30 mm cannon. It can accommodate various electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) systems. The USV also has a dipping sonar located mid-section.

Nimrod Karmi, corporate communications and global PR manager at Elbit Systems, said that the first USV is expected to be delivered to an undisclosed customer by early 2027.
