Republikorp subsidiary Republik Defens Indonesia (RDI) has teamed with Milanion Group to supply the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) with unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).

Under a partnership agreement announced at NAVDEX 2025 on 17 February, United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Milanion will integrate its advanced autonomous conversion kits into locally designed and built vessels tailored to TNI-AL requirements.

The scope of the contract includes the delivery of an initial batch of five 20 m USVs.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work closely with a local Indonesian shipyard that has been tasked with the design, build, and supply of boats tailored to the TNI-AL's specific requirements.

Speaking to Janes at NAVDEX 2025, Milanion CEO Davinder Dogra said that while the initial order is for five units, additional batches are expected to follow that could eventually total more than 20–25 units but the size of the vessels may differ.

β€œWe don't know yet what the sizes of the subsequent boats will be; it could change from batch to batch,” he said. β€œOne of the reasons why Republikorp decided to partner with us is because our autonomous system can be adapted to any size of boat, whether it's an inboard motor or an outboard motor. So, it gives them flexibility – and scalability – without looking for different partners.”
