Sincronia Logistica of Mexico City plans to expand throughout Mexico following successful deliveries of medical supplies using DJI Matrice 210 RTK unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Diego Garcia, company director of business excellence, told Janes on 14 July that Sincronia Logistica in 2019 started using UAVs to deliver medical supplies such as orthopaedic and osteosynthesis material for joint replacement and reconstructive surgeries. The payload capacity on Sincronia Logistica’s UAVs is 1.5 kg.

The company’s first delivery tests were performed in Mexico City, where Sincronia Logistica has its main warehouse. The company has had deliveries increase in 2020 due to Covid-19, delivering supplies such as facemasks, thermometers, additively manufactured or 3D-printed face shields, and safety glasses.
Sincronia Logistica launched operations in Queretaro earlier this year when the Covid-19 pandemic began. The company developed a prototype van to serve as a mobile hub there, as it does not have a main warehouse in Queretaro.
Sincronia Logistica uses this van to store medical equipment and launch its aircraft. Garcia said that UAV medical supply delivery was attractive in Mexico because it could reduce delivery time by 80–85% compared with using ground vehicles.
Garcia said that the company had four Matrice 210 RTK UAVs but was using only one aircraft to make deliveries. This is because of national regulations limiting the number of people in close quarters to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
The company has made a few changes to the aircraft. Garcia told Janes
